This is my last post on MyBackBayLife, as I’m no longer living there, but I surely want to tell you what happened after May 09…

As some things tend to happen suddenly in our lives, I got super busy with work  back in June 2009, right after I got notice to move out. Besides heavy traveling for work, I searched for places to rent in the area, but  I didn’t want to be in Back Bay anymore. As I learned from spending two years there  it is not as friendly or diverse or fascinating as other places in Boston.

I looked at several apartments in South End  as I was curious about the neighboring hood, but wasn’t sure about exact location. My friend J offered me a room to rent at her house in Roxbury Crossing, right on the border with South End. And I gladly accepted her offer.

I spent six months at her place with J and A as my housemates. During those six months we had intersting life with lots of adventures and I wrote down a lot of my memories from those days, which I may publish in the future. The highlight was that backyard patio I fell in love with during warm summer days…

Now there is another phase in my life, beyond Roxbury, Back Bay or Boston altogether. And I hope it will be more exciting and meaningful than others.

We live once , why not explore everything life has to offer us right now? ;)

Friday was all about work and John Adams movie watching. But Saturday was a very happenning day! I stopped by Bay village to see one place to possibly rent. Verdict: not enough closet space! :(

I ran all the way to Tremont for brunch at Metropolis with other folks from Brunch and More meet-up group. It was good and the day was great!!! Sunny, warm and just amazing! As J and I went for a walk in South End, we bumped into my friend R and he showed us his roofdeck, which is awesome. We promissed to help him host a party this summer.

Then I watched Angels and Demons with S at Boston Common movie theater, we grabbed sushi at Houstons and headed to the Liberty hotel for Europeans in Boston social event. To my surprise I knew a lot of people! And met even more new ones! J and I met a mutual friend who was attending his friend’s bachelor party and they were going  crazy down at Aliby with the rest of the gang. I didn’t have any alcohol, but stayed there until 2AM. It was a great day, one of those, you thank God for :)

Back to work! Met for dinner at Seven’s in Beacon Hill with N and discussed some business ideas with him. I want to start my own business, just don’t know what…

At work we had community event with Mexican lunch and series of presentations on OSI program and volunteering opportunities within the company. I did some research on craigslist.org on possible neighborhoods to move to. I’m considering Cambridge, Back Bay and South End. Or is it time to buy???

D and I had dinner in Cafeteria. We talked and talked and talked… J

First of all, I was meeting great people all weekend and there were so many activities I just didn’t have time for, but they were great : Thai massage, tennis, volleyball, wine tasting, kayaking, rock climbing, cooking classes, archery lesson, booze hike, biking, laughing yoga, etc. On Monday I tried trapeze, played human size chess outside (won 1 and lost 1) and flew on bungee trampoline.

As we were leaving the place, I couldn’t believe how many new things I tried in just one weekend!

As I returned to Boston my friend invited me for dinner to South End. After all that extreme physical activity this weekend it was so nice to relax in a hot tub on the private roof deck!  :)

Saturday: Went for an “Appalachian” hike right after breakfast.  Stopped by for a pole dancing lesson. Played ping pong. And after lunch went to striptease class and took poker lesson (Texas Hold’em) and even participated in the poker tournament. AFter dinner danced at disco later that night!

Sunday: Golf lesson after breakfast. Zip line and water skiing in the afternoon. Water in the lake is so warm! It rained and I was nice to take a nap before dinner, which had international cuisine with food and wine pairing. I didn’t like the comedian, but later that night there was British invasion party with staff dressed as British royalty, rock stars and campfire by the lake with guitar playing and making S’mores!!!

All packed and ready to go to Club Getaway for the weekend! Five of us in the car driving to Kent, CT.  We checked in; first impression is very pleasant. Big cabin for 4, quiet and peaceful environment, right on the lake in the woods in Berkshires. J and I had dinner and after checking out the dance club I went to bed. There are so many activities to do tomorrow!!! I need some rest.

The whole beauty of Club Getaway is that it is all inclusive; I mean food, drinks and activities. I came just for their activities and liked them all! First of all we went for a ride on love boat around the lake and had rum punch! Our gondolier was a cute guy from New Zealand. There are people here from all over the world.

Already Wednesday! After work I visited hotel pool. I finished watching Part 2 of John Adams. Concierge lounge is a great invention – had breakfast and dinner there! Read more, phone friends in Boston and arranged carpool for Friday to CT.

Going back to Boston! Raleigh was too small for me! Flew in Boston and found a letter on my door saying that I’ll have to move out of my place by the end of June! Shocker… J and I went to Literary Death Match at Paradise Lounge. J’s friend won the contest  :)

Had Pig’s barbecue at a dive cafe in Raleigh for lunch with co-workers. In the evening went to Marriott Concierge lounge for some appetizers and fruit. Watched John Adams and read Outliers by Malcolm Gladwell. Got voicemail from my friend saying she found an accounting job! And my other friend is going to Club Getaway for Memorial Day weekend with me! :)

Hello North Carolina! Raleigh looks small, but it is a capital of NC. Marriott hotel is right by the office, great! Our boss took us to An in Cary, NC for dinner, which is owned by SAS owner, and represents Asian and French fusion cuisine.

Meditation again. Feeling better, found better position. I’m not afraid to switch legs, when meditating. Walking mediation helps to get organized. I’m still judgmental about my thought process and can’t control it, but feel much better about it. At the end of the day Shambhala center staff organized amazing reception with good food and drinks. Everyone I met (must be more than 30 people) is very kind, genuine and with inquisitive mind. Some of them are going to take level 2 in June here! Can’t wait. I hope K can do it too. Now I’ll have to practice meditation every day! :) Great weekend.

As soon as I came home I passed out, will have to get up at 4AM in the morning tomorrow to fly to Raleigh, NC for work. Sweet dreams!
